Sometimes referred to as the Angel Herb, the flowering Angelica Sinensis (also known as Dong Quai) is found in the cold damp mountains of China, Korea and Japan. A member of the celery family, the roots have been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese medicine for health conditions in women. It is said to have received its name when an angel appeared to a European monk and told him of the medicinal virtues of Angelica.
