Collection: Oriental Water Plantain

The Oriental Water Plantain (also known as Alisma Orientalis or Ze Xie) grows in shallow water and boggy spots in Europe, North America, Northern China and Japan. This white flowering water lover’s name “Alisma” comes from the Celtic word for water. Documentation shows that this plant has been used medicinally in the Asia and the USSR for hundreds of years. Perhaps the water where it grows gives this herb its cooling powers.
